Daily Drena (Drew and Lorena’s (aka Drena) key thought of the day): Red eyes
After just one day of packing and 4 hours sleep, we are off to the airport. Chris LeMay has graciously offered to take us at 5:15 in the morning. We are glad we have a morning person as a friend. I repay him by spilling my blueberry smoothie over the back of his truck. Twice. Hopefully I got it all cleaned up, but it’s too early and too dark to tell for sure. “Early” and “Us” don’t mix well.
The rest of the trip goes fairly smoothly – we traipse through JFK in search of free wifi and squeeze a bit of work in. However, I drop my favorite water bottle that is meant for the entire trip and it breaks. So much for that.
We have packed one bag and one carry on for the both of us for the three months. This includes biking, hiking, and some skiing gear, clothes for winter weather and warmer weather, and our mobile offices. Drew has his big backpack and I have a suitcase. We debated which form will be best for a trip like this. Drew will have the advantage on anything not smooth. I will save my back for the rest of the time.
